Sub: Statement of Purpose for Student Visa to pursue a course at St. Clair College
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am born and brought up in a society which is inspired by the principle that “Service to Humanity is Service to God.” And I have been getting involved in social welfare activities since my childhood. I used to help everyone in my village by attending patients and taking care of them whenever they were in need. Because of my dedication, a hospital offered me job. I worked there as a receptionist. I helped the people beyond the call of my duties.
To climb higher in my profession, I need a degree. An international degree will be of more help to bag a better job in India. I applied and have got admission into the Office Administration-Health Services course at St Clair College in Canada. I have got the offer letter from the college. Now what I need is the study visa so that I can start attending my classes. This course would enable me to achieve my twin objectives of serving humanity and being good at my job.
Experience
On completion of my senior secondary schooling in 2018 I was offered a job as a receptionist in a hospital. I took it up gladly since it involved service to patients and I got to learn practically. Apart from regular duties I went out of my way to help distressed people with their issues and made the experience of hospitalization and attending to relatives admitted for treatment a comfortable one. My work showed me that there is more scope in this area and that not only patients but also their relatives, who arrive at the hospital, can do with assistance and guidance. Therefore, I have decided to study further and undergo the Office Administration-Health Services course at St Clair College in Canada.
Why St. Clair College and why Canada
I have seen that the hospitals in India pay more importance to the candidates who have acquired international education. I looked in Canada and found that St. Clair College offers the course I need to undergo to further my career prospects. I know that just dedication is not enough to land a job which will help me to serve humanity in one area. Employers need certified professionals. This College’s course and certification will give me international qualification that I need for my future plans. Canada is a peaceful country and welcomes students from all over the world without prejudice. I know that the brief time I spend here will offer me world-class education and I will also be able to develop my personality.
Financials
My father, who is an assistant sub inspector with the Punjab Police with an annual income of about Rs 700,000 per annum, will bear most of the cost. I have also saved around Rs 5 lakhs which will partly help to finance my studies and stay. I have obtained admission and have deposited CAD 10035 towards GIC and have paid the College the tuition fee of CAD 16000. I will be using my and my family funds and do not foresee any financial hardship. We have other income from agriculture with our land valued at Rs 20 lakhs, so we are relatively comfortable in life.
My family details
My father is an assistant sub-inspector with the Punjab Police and my mother is a home maker. My elder brother is in the merchant navy. We are a close-knit family and have a strongly religious and spiritual side, visiting our Sikh Gurudwara regularly and taking part in voluntary services. As my brother is away from home most of the time due to his jobs in Merchant Navy, it’s my sole responsibility to look after my parents, parental home and the ancestral property.
Future Prospects in India after this course
The hospital industry in India is forecasted to increase to Rs 8.6 trillion (USD 132.84 billion) by fiscal year 2022. The hospital industry is 80 per cent of the total healthcare market, growing at a CAGR of 16-17 per cent and is set to reach $132 Bn by 2023. More and more healthcare organizations are to be established in India opening up lucrative job opportunities for professionals like me. After completing an international course from Canada, I will have an edge over others while applying for jobs in the hospitals of India.
The Government of India is also planning to increase its healthcare spending to 3 per cent of GDP by 2022. The health sector of India is growing expanding the existing healthcare facilities offering new services by technology platforms, introducing hi-tech tools etc. As a result, I can expect good jobs in the government sector too.
My future plan
Once I complete the course I will return to India and I will take up a better position where I can put my education to constructive, positive use to serve people coming to hospitals for treatment. My future is in India and I will work among our community and do my bit. It will give me spiritual bliss and peace.
