One can be a follower or a leader. Working as part of a team has its joys, no doubt, but the being a project leader is challenging and that is what I am aiming at in my career. I am trained as an electrical engineer as well as a software expert. And knowledge on project management will empower me to manage electrical or other technical projects in a better way. I work in a team but am looking to lead from the front.
Five years of work as software engineer has taught me that one can continue to be part of a team for the rest of one’s life. On the other hand, one can become a project or team leader and lead a team. I have developed capabilities in software development and would like to apply this to areas of electrical power distribution, control and management.
I wish to gain in-depth knowledge of how to conceive, develop and implement projects that will lead to improvements in the industrial sectors of India. I expect this program will give me the skills to manage large scale, professional projects with full capability and responsibility.

Experience
Since the past five years I have been working as a software engineer in a leading IT company. I am part of a team and we work on projects taken up for international clients. I am part of a team and my specific tasks include coding, testing and documentation besides interacting with clients and keeping them updated about progress.
Classes/projects
During my college years I took on programming courses on my own and have attended online courses on C++, Java programming and Python.
While in college I took on a project on Switchyard Protection in the electrical maintenance department at NTPC Ltd, Ramagundam. I evaluated existing systems in place and submitted a detailed report on improvements that would lead to better safety and prevention of accidents.
Leadership/community experience
I have been a bright student and won the 2nd place in the school level Chekumukhi Science Talent contest in 2005. Right through my school days I was elected as class representative and was recognised as a leader. Even today, at work, I take it upon myself to organize events and lead team members in diverse activities, notable among which is the relief work done during last year’s pandemic.
Values I bring to the institution
I am aware of the vast gender gap that exists in India and wish to prove that women are no less capable in taking on responsible and challenging projects. I have what it takes to succeed in studies and at work and believe in taking the bit between the teeth and never letting it go until I have achieved my objective. I will study with full dedication and hope to do the university proud. I also would like to repay the university by promoting it in my circles and recommending it to students and colleagues who wish to pursue higher education abroad.
Career goals and how this course will help
I am ambitious and wish to attain a leadership position as well as bring positive changes in the project management of the power generation industry in India. I hope to integrate software technologies to automate power generation, distribution and monitoring and streamline the processes as per the latest global practices of project management.
For the short term I plan to take up a job in a company as a project manager in this core sector. Later on when I have matured with experience and further knowledge I will certainly look to start my own project consultancy and be in charge of my life. This course will give me the strongest foundation I need to rise and tower above others. I will acquire the latest international knowledge to manage projects as per global standards.
