Example of SOP for studying Information Technology Infrastructure in Canada

Ever since the Digital Revolution and the expansion of digital services across the globe, the thrust for IT infrastructure has significantly risen over the world too. Even in India, the tremendous growth of the IT and digital sector has led to the rising demand of IT, data and analytical professionals. Web developers and software engineers are also sought for everywhere. It is evident for me to pursue higher studies in the discipline of Information Technology Infrastructure, firstly because of my academic/professional background, secondly for my personal enthusiasm towards the field and lastly for the growing relevance of such infrastructures in this modern era. Underneath, I have elaborated on every detail that pertains towards the aforementioned discipline, including my extracurricular ventures too.

I passed my Matriculation exam from ……….. in ……. with a total of ……. I later passed my intermediate exam from ……. in ………. with an annual score of ……….. I graduated from …… College of Engineering and Technology, in 2013, with a score of…….. I graduated from the department of………… (Computer Science and Engineering). It is quite vivid that my background in …….. lays down my fundamental goal/reason for pursuing higher studies in the aforementioned discipline. Before delving into the specifics of my subjects and courses, let me quickly express my reasons for traveling and studying in the previously mentioned country and university.

Canada is globally renowned for providing world-class education facilities. With institutions, like the one listed here, the country till date holds the beacon of education excellence, simultaneously serving us foreign-students with every facility to suffice our academic requirement. The country’s IT sector is also amongst the rapidly growing ones, so getting to learn amidst such surroundings would serve as highly beneficial for my academic aspirations. The educational institution offers an elaborate and practically oriented course-structure. The allowance of theoretical and practical lessons would help us learn about the discipline with depth and profundity. I have learnt about the versatility and expertise of the faculty, through the college’s alumni. In short, such reasons have led to my confirmed decision of traveling and studying over there.

Some of my main subjects during my graduation included Computer Science, Computer Networks, Data Structure, Discrete Mathematics, Design, Software Engineering, Operating Systems and more. I was able to learn about computer applications, software development, web development and coding through computer languages, all of which aligns directly with the discipline of Information Technology Infrastructure. I have indulged in project-based work/activities during college, wherein I, alongside teams, had to collectively use computer applications and render tasks through unconventional (automated/digitized) methods of engineering. Furthermore, my leisurely practice of coding has honed my skill-sets to a significant level, where I am now suitably able to grasp the concepts of computer application and web development.

I have been running my own business for the last ten years. It is based on the trading of cement, steel and hardware products. It is worth noting that my motivation to pursue higher education comes from my current profession as a businessman too. I have seen organizations growing and every other sector shifting towards digital platforms/processes, to basically meet the current standards of the industry. Hence, I wish to pursue a course in IT myself, so that I may be able to take up such responsibilities on my own and help my business reach higher pedestals, and engage with the globalized network of firms that are connected through digital networks. In this day and age it is crucial for practitioners like me to opt for digital methods, virtual spaces, and information technology, not merely for expansion or networking, but also to innovate our conventional methods and add towards the global wheel of impeccable progress.

After an elongated time handling all the affairs of my business, my managerial and leadership skills have significantly risen to great extents. I could manage between tasks, reciprocate, analyze, introspect and reason, even between/through hurdles and uncertainties. My community-based experiences stem from my indulgences in cultural events, organization of college, events, neighborhood functions and so on. Engaging with various people, learning about other communities and cultures has certainly opened my mind up towards the diversity of my own home country.

Throughout such ventures and experiences, I have grown to understand and appreciate the values of humanity. It is necessary for us to hold on towards inclusive notions and maintain a harmonious society. Moreover, even as a person who is engaged with the trading of steel and cement, I believe in the necessity of opting for sustainable approaches. The ecology is already reaching its saturation levels in various parts of the globe. This is the reason why I wish to go for the aforementioned discipline, so that I would be able to utilize the incredible aspects of IT and bridge the gaps between my business operations and sustainable development.

India is itself emerging as one of the global leaders in IT infrastructure. While I wish to establish a stable/settled career in my own home country, I also would like to place special emphasis on my business ventures. Through an added experience with IT and computer science education, I can imbibe my additional skills in business, management and networking, to achieve certain heights that I wasn’t able to before. I understood the importance of accepting unconventional methods, digital processes and IT based development, hence I eventually set up my career goals to learn and grow my skills, so that I may be able to meet with the globalized standards of the business and digital revolutions.
