I have not applied for scholarship or funding from any other source. This is my sole application for the scholarship. I am using my own family funds and will welcome any aid I can get. I am committed to make the most of the scholarship that I would get from your institution.
Have you applied for financial assistance elsewhere (e.g. other scholarship/government)?
No. I have not applied for any external financial assistance. The usual route is to apply for student bank loan but that is a tedious process and it has complicated web of terms and conditions. At the moment our family finances are not sufficient enough to meet my obligations for fees and cost of stay and the scholarship would provide a measure of relief.
I also categorically declare and state that I have not applied for any sort of any financial assistance from any source, government, private or scholarship. This is the only scholarship for which I have applied.
How will you fund the remaining of your fees and living expense?
My family has sufficient means to support me partially during my study period. My father will take care of ongoing tuition fees to be paid for each term and he will also remit money to me in order to help me to meet living expenses. If the university permits I could find some part time work that will help to partly pay for costs of stay but I would not go that way since work will detract from studies. The scholarship, if granted, will reduce financial burden on the family.

My interest in data science goes back to my college days when I pursued studies in artificial intelligence, machine learning and neural networks. It was fortunate for me that I worked as programmer analyst and data engineer with Cognizant first and then with Infosys.
Thereafter I joined Brillio as a big data engineer. This is where I really delved deeper into data science. I did have to put in extra efforts to learn more about data science in order to do better. I feel that personal learning is not sufficient. I do need to pursue a professional course and this is why I am here, seeking admission to the university’s data science program.
I do have some background in big data and analysis gained from my work at Cognizant and Brillio. I have worked on Spark and Azure pipeline design and architecture. This gives me a good grounding and familiarity with the topic to take on advanced studies with comparative ease. I have made it a point to study Azure, AWS, Python, Spark and Azure Data Factory courses on my own.
I do not believe in doing things by halves or being incompetent. My career path is data science and analytics and I have chosen this course so that I gain job-specific skills and a high degree of competence. This will help me to work with confidence and capability in my chosen profession.
Data science holds much promise, especially in a developing country like India where I can put my skills to good use in government and for the people in areas such as agriculture, economy, education and healthcare. There is much to be done and India needs highly skilled personnel in data science to bring about transformation. I hope to lead this transformation once I undergo this course.
I am hoping for a scholarship and feel that my qualifications in terms of educational background, work experience and topic specific knowledge make me eligible. It will help me to part-finance my studies and relieve a burden. I shall do my utmost to satisfy decision makers that they made the right choice when they granted me the scholarship.

Higher education lays the foundation for one’s future. I feel that one must be quite particular in the choice of institution and the course. I have chosen to study the Masters in Data Science Course here as the foundation for my future career.
It would seem as if I am going off at a tangent since I have Bachelors in Electronic and Communication Engineering. However, during the final years I took specific interest in data science and artificial intelligence because of the immense possibilities in this field.
I started as a programmer analyst with Cognizant Technology Solutions, working mainly on Spark. Here I saw the immense possibilities of data science and also perceived my shortcomings. Luckily, I obtained a position as a data engineer with Infosys where I worked specifically in analysis of Greenplum stored procedures and used AWS Glue Spark for advanced client jobs, integrating Spark with Python Shell. My next job as a big data engineer at Brillio in Bangalore brought deeper involvement with the Azure pipeline and Azure data lake factory. I worked in a team working on Orchestration of Architecture and creation of RBAC Policies as well as creation of Spark Scripts. Realization dawned on me that even though I had acquired knowledge on my own and through work, I must go in for advanced studies if I wanted to do something meaningful in this career path.
I looked around, examined courses and curriculum offered by various universities. I found the course from this university fitting in with my plans to refine my skills and knowledge so that I could take on challenging roles in this profession. The course covers data science, statistics, machine learning and software. In addition, the course includes research preparation and options on Bayesian learning and reinforcement learning.
Throughout my life I have always wanted to be capable in whatever I do. I believe in leading from the front, a practice that carries over from my school and college days. Since I have chosen data science and analytics for my future I want to be extremely capable and, for me, this course is not the final post but a stage on my path to advance my knowledge and thereby advance in my career. This course at the University of Bath meets my stringent requirements and I am confident it will give me exactly the type of capabilities I am looking for to rise in life. If I can get a scholarship it will, I believe, go to a deserving candidate. It will also help reduce some financial burden and help me to focus more on my studies and excel.
