Sub: Statement of Purpose for Student Visa, to pursue Post Graduate Programme in Data Analytics for Business from St Clair College, Ontario

Dear Sir/Madam,

In the quest for higher knowledge in the path of my progress, I am all set to set a newer milestone. I have got admission into the Post Graduate Programme in Data Analytics for Business from St Clair College, Ontario. This course will equip me as per the international standard to surge ahead in my career in India. Empowered by global knowledge, I look forward to a lucrative career ahead in the renowned Indian companies.

I completed my B.Tech in information technology in 2019 and, during the final years, I consciously focused on data analytics in my project work. Now that I have a good understanding of data analytics and applications in business it is only right that I should seek a post graduation degree in data analytics for business. I intend to join St. Clair College in Ontario.

Experience

After completing My B.Tech in information technology I worked freelance on miscellaneous projects in order to gain experience and also to have free time to prepare for higher studies in data analytics. My hands-on internship in Navo Infotech Pvt Ltd gave me a chance to use my skills to refine their SQL and DBMS structure. For a brief while I was an intern tasked with digital marketing and web application development at Benfy Consulting Services.

However, more relevant is my project work on Twitter Sentiment Analysis using Word2VEC and TF-IDF Word Embedding. I used machine learning for deep analysis of tweets in real time.

Why this University and why Canada

It took me some effort to find a suitable college offering a course that will give me focused teaching on data analytics for the moment. There are other aspects such as AI and Ml that I propose to delve into deeper at another time but for now data analytics is in my sights and this college offers the right course with flexibility, top faculty, practical work and chance to interact with professionals to know current industry trends. St Clair College is in Canada, a charming country I love for its natural scenery and vastness of space as also for its welcoming attitude towards students from all over the world. I hope to gain more besides education while I am briefly in Canada.

Financials

I shall be paying for the course and costs of stay from our family funds. My father is no more but my mother, Vanitha P. is a section officer in the Transport department of the Tamil Nadu Government and she will bear all costs of my studies and stay. We are comfortably well off since my brother, who is service head at BMW motorrad, has also promised to chip in.

I have already paid the tuition fee of CAD…………………..and the GIC amount of…………………………..

My family details

My father, ……………………….., is no more. My mother………………….., is section officer in the transport department of Tamil Nadu Government and my elder brother Prashanth Shankar works as Service head in the local BMW motorrad agency. We live together and have close ties with each other besides close ties with other family members and our community. We are orthodox and believe in following a traditional way of life as my father and grandfather taught us.

I am bound to return to India and take care of my mother when she eventually retires. I also owe it to my brother to repay his kindness. That is one side of it. The other side is that there is tremendous scope in India where growth is higher as is the need for more advanced IT and data analytics technologies. I shall feel at home, stay connected with family and will struggle less in India than I would if I sought a job abroad. Please rest assured I will be returning to India on completion of my studies. I have a lot to do for my country and I am of the opinion that the grass is green this side of the field.
