STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Computer Science Education is highly relevant nowadays. Every sector, business and institution seeks computer aided-design, IT provisions and similar technological assistance. Academics, medical science, name any sector and one may notice how highly significant Computer Science and IT professionals are over there. Higher education in Computer Science would play a crucial role in preparing us for the future, where almost anything and everything is turning towards automation. With humanity’s onward-progress and the increasing utility of the aforementioned technologies, it becomes quite evident for me to pursue higher studies in Computer Science Education, because, as an individual I wish to contribute towards society, sustainable development/innovation and of course to the discipline itself.

I chose Computer Science because of the growing relevance of IT and computer-aided technologies, under a global context. All that we used to imagine surprisingly is turning out to be a reality. Distances are getting closer, along with the provision of convenience in the palm of our hands. Apart from the significance of the aforementioned discipline in the post-modern context, my academic pursuits also equip and motivate me to pursue higher studies in Computer Science Education. I have completed diploma courses, projects and have gathered first-hand experiences of working in active work-environments, all of which shall be elaborated underneath.

The inception/expansion of the digital revolution is marked in the USA. Tech giants, ranging from Apple, Microsoft, Google, all the way to the development of social media (Facebook, Instagram) started from the States. Furthermore, the Silicon Valley is established there, making the country all-the-more noteworthy. The USA inevitably provides something that other countries wouldn’t be able to, which is the history of our renowned Digital Revolution. I would be able to visit such places in person and witness the pace of live innovation. One cannot enjoy the allowance of such field visits from other countries, making the chance to study in the USA unique and extravagant.

Amidst my research upon universities across the world, I have learned about the unique facilities provided by the aforementioned one, some of which aren’t readily provided by other universities. The course structure interested me, alongwith the allowance of field-based activities and practical papers. In totality, my research from both primary and secondary sources has confirmed my preference to study in the aforementioned university and the country.

I have completed diploma courses and received formal certifications in Computer Application, Circuit Analysis and Design. I have also presented a technical research paper on BlueTooth. I believe these certifications adequately equip me with the knowledge-base and skill-set required to pursue higher education in Computer Science. I completed a project on Industrial Object Sorting Robot with Color Identification and Counter using AT89S52. We developed an application for a robot of a particular type. The issue that we addressed or attempted to solve was to create an autonomous robot, one that could navigate within an area, identify objects on the conveyor-belt, based on color sensing, and finally sort them by relocating to a specific location.

I have garnered the experience of working for over 7 years as a software engineer. I have freelanced for several clients, as well as worked under legitimate companies/businesses. The experience thoroughly prepared me with the practical knowledge required to understand the various dynamics and teachings of Computer Science. I wish to take these experiences ahead and further study the discipline and establish a unique place in the industry as a Computer Science and IT professional.

In my varied pursuits in life, community-building experience was attained from my participation in organizing college events. I learned to value the essence of teamwork and contribute towards collective efforts, which in-turn make tasks flawlessly successful.

My values stand for sustainable innovation and progress. It can quite vividly be observed that anthropocentric processes harm our environment. There’s a growing need to develop processes that innovate and preserve, simultaneously. Let us consider the example of how digital platforms have been able to curb the radical usage of paper. Online material is getting preferred because everything can be stored and accessed from the convenience of a smartphone. Similarly, with profound research and development we can definitely address the ecological issues with the innovative features of digital technology.

AI particularly fascinates me. Witnessing the age of computers and the growing relevance of such technologies, I have always dreamed of developing applications/programs for the robotics industry. My wish to pursue higher education in Computer Science Education from a notable university/institution stems from the innovations thrusted by the globalizing pace of our Digital Revolution. My career goal is set to attain the heights of success in the aforementioned discipline, and hopefully contribute towards the field of robotics.
